Learn from the basics to advanced skills in our Acro classes. Our highly experienced Acro instructors will guide the class towards increased flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, discipline and concentration. Classes will focus on fundamental acrobatic technique, teaching such skills as handstands, chin stands, elbow stands, cartwheels, back bends, walkovers, balance and contortion tricks, all each student's individual level of experience.
Beginner Acro Class
The beginner level class introduces basic Acro steps that will later be used as the building blocks toward more advanced moves in the higher level classes. Students will practice core strengthening and flexibility activities that are essential for performing Acro stunts within their dances. In this level, students will learn the basic movements for chin stands, elbow stands, handstands, bridges, front and back rolls, and cartwheels. Any Acro tricks that are put into their dance will be worked on in this class.
Intermediate Acro Class
This intermediate level class builds upon the skills learned in the beginner level. Core strengthening and flexibility training will continue at a more difficult level. Now that the students have mastered basic Acro movements, they will do them with a more advanced variation. Chin, elbow, and handstands will be held in balance, bridges turn into front and back walkovers, forward rolls become diving rolls, and cartwheels are done with one hand, or done while running. Any Acro tricks that are put into their dance will be worked on in this class.
Advanced Acro Class
This advanced Acro class is available for students who have mastered all previous skills. In this class, students will further advance their Acro skills by adapting walkovers into diving walkovers or front aerials, and cartwheels will progress into side aerials. Chin, elbow, and handstand balances will be perfected and students will work on transitions between these steps. Front and back handsprings will be introduced. Any acro tricks that are put into their dance will be worked on in this class.
